Website Privacy Statement

The staff of the Midland Rape Crisis Center, dba Midland Rape Crisis and Children’s Advocacy Center (“MRCCAC”) understand the importance of protecting your privacy, and we are serious about that responsibility, especially where our website is concerned.

We do not collect any information via our website that can be used to identify you individually. We also do not use cookies to track visitors to and through our website.

Our webhost provides a standard access log that records visits to our site, but this log does not – and can not – capture information that could be used to identify you individually. It can not, for example, capture your email address, your name, your location or any personal information such as social security, drivers license or credit card numbers. We use the information contained in this log in summarized form to know how many visitors to our website we have during a given period of time, and to assess what pages in our website are visited most often. This is a tool for helping us provide the information you are most interested in.

We may provide various online forms on our website designed to help you communicate with us. You do not have to fill out any of these forms in order to use our website or our services. Some of these forms may make it optional for you to provide your name, address, email address and/or phone number. It is entirely up to you to decide whether to provide such information or not. If you choose to provide us with such information via an online form, we promise never to share or sell such information – including the nature of any information you might request from us – with any third party, unless we are obligated to do so by law, statute, regulation or court order.

NOTE: This privacy policy applies only to www.mrccac.org. This privacy policy does not apply to any external websites to which this site is linked, as we do not control the content of those websites.

Statement regarding the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) of 1998

The MRCCAC does not use its website to collect any personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. Any interface that requests personally identifiable information that appears on a page that can be expected to be viewed by children under 13 years of age is accompanied by a notice that submissions cannot be accepted from users under 13 years of age. Where “age” or “date of birth” is requested, no information will be stored or transmitted unless the response indicates that the user is 13 years of age or older.

Policy Modifications and Deviations

We may modify this privacy policy and will post those changes here. If the privacy policy changes in the future, we will not use any personal information you have submitted to us under the current Privacy Policy in a manner that is materially inconsistent with this Privacy Policy, without your prior consent.

It may be necessary to deviate from this general policy in unique instances and for specific purposes. In such instances, a link will be provided to a description of the deviation. This link will be placed where it can be reasonably expected to be noticed prior to submitting any information for which this privacy policy is modified or exempted in any way.
